Pacific Region
Our Facilitator
Sylvia Hewitt was born in the St’at’imc territory and raised in the Sto:lo territory. She has spent over 20 years working in various First Nations communities, supporting individuals across the lifespan—from preschool to long-term care. With a lifelong passion for helping others, Sylvia pursued a career in nursing, working in the field for eight years. However, seeking deeper fulfillment, she transitioned to the field of addictions, where she has made a meaningful impact over the past five years.
In addition to her work in community health, Sylvia has been an entrepreneur in the food industry for the past three years and is currently expanding her business. Her extensive experience in addictions support, using a client-centered approach, combined with her entrepreneurial skills, brings valuable insight and leadership to her current role as a Facilitator. Sylvia is committed to making a lasting difference within communities and empowering people to thrive.
Training Week
Our training week at SEF Canada in Main 312 was a huge success. This project is an amazing opportunity to support Indigenous people in their journey to succeed in society through entrepreneurial development.
Throughout the week, we were treated to delicious Indigenous catering, including fabulous feasts featuring bison, elk, salmon, and bannock. We also got to enjoy jams made from berries and pine, along with surprise ingredients that made every meal unforgettable.
A big shout-out to @tradishs_the_ancestor_cafe, @tawnshicharcuterie, and @salmonnbannockbistro for making this week’s culinary experience truly special!
